Eddie Donnelly
Eddie Donnelly is a respected New Jersey labor leader and strategic advisor with more than two decades of experience navigating the Statehouse, building coalitions, and delivering results on complex public policy and business initiatives. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for bringing together diverse stakeholders, developing effective strategies, and successfully managing high-profile legislative and organizational challenges.
For the past 14 years, Eddie has served as President of the New Jersey State Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (NJFMBA), providing steadfast leadership and advocacy on behalf of professional firefighters, EMTs, and dispatchers throughout the state. A respected leader in New Jersey's labor and public safety communities, he has been a leading voice on issues affecting first responders, workers' rights, pensions, healthcare, public safety policy, and collective bargaining.
In addition to his leadership of the FMBA, Eddie was appointed to the Police and Firemen's Retirement System of New Jersey (PFRSNJ) Board of Trustees in 2018 and was elected as its first-ever Chairman. He also served on New Jersey's Interest Arbitration Task Force, helping shape policies that impact labor relations and dispute resolution for public safety employees. Eddie served on Governor Phil Murphy's transition team and most recently served as Co-Chair for Governor Mikie Sherrill, helping advance key statewide priorities. He has been appointed by Governor Sherrill to the New Jersey Ireland Trade Commission. In that capacity, Eddie will be working to strengthen the bond between New Jersey and Ireland, specifically targeting business development, trade, and education. He is currently appointed by the speaker of the New Jersey Assembly to the Board of the World Trade Center Scholarship Fund, supporting the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
